Journeyman / Woman Boilermaker
Terms of Employment: Temporary, Full Time, Shift, Overtime, Day, Night
Salary: $39.15 hourly for 40 hours per week, As per collective agreement
Anticipated Start Date: 2010/02/15
Location: Fort McMurray, Alberta, Alberta (80 vacancies)
Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Boilermaker Trade Certification, Boilermaker Red Seal Certificate
Experience: 5 years or more
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Major Work Area: Assembly, Shopwork, Maintenance, Repair
Area of Specialization: Boiler tube installation, Pressure vessels, Stacks, towers and furnaces
Type of Establishment/Work Setting Experience: Oil refinery and petrochemical plant
Welding Techniques: Gas Tungsten ARC (GMAW) (TIG), Electric ARC, Shielded metal ARC welding (SMAW)
Welding Positions: Flat, Horizontal, Vertical-up, Vertical-down, Overhead, All positions
Specific Skills: Fit and weld parts together, Repair and maintain boilers and heavy-metal products, Direct activities of hoist or crane operators during installation, Perform informal inspections of completed welds, Rig and hoist equipment
Additional Skills: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications, Instruct apprentices
Security and Safety: Basic security clearance, Drug test
Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Tight deadlines, Physically demanding, Attention to detail
Work Site Environment: Noisy
