Journeyman / Woman Pipefitter
Terms of Employment: Temporary, Full Time, Shift, Overtime, Day, Night
Salary: $38.85 hourly for 40 hours per week, As per collective agreement
Anticipated Start Date: 2010/02/15
Location: Fort McMurray, AB, Alberta (80 vacancies)

Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licenses, memberships, courses, etc.): Steamfitter - Pipefitter Trade Certification, Steamfitter - Pipefitter Red Seal Certificate
Experience: No experience
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Major Work Area: Maintenance, Repair

Area of Steamfitting and Pipefitting Specialization: Heating systems, Cooling systems, Combustible gas systems, Non-combustible gas systems, Chemical/petrochemical systems, Steam systems, Vacuum systems, Fire protection systems, Slurry systems, Hydraulic systems, Pneumatic systems, Water treatment systems, Industrial processing systems, Environmental containment systems
Pipefitting / Steamfitting Testing Methods: Visual, Non-destructive, Hydrostatic, Pneumatic, Performance, Heat treatment
Area of Sprinkler System Installer Specializations: Wet and dry pipe, Pre-action and deluge, Halon and foam systems CO2, Water supplies and hydrants, Alarms and alarm devices, Air supplies, Pressure vessels, Bulk mains, Branch lines, Control valves, Drain valves, Quick-opening equipment, Fire hose connections
Type of Piping: Black carbon or steel, Stainless steel
Specific Skills: Determine layout requirements, Cut openings for pipes in walls, ceilings or floors, Weld, braze, cement or solder pipes and joints, Remove and replace defective components, Install clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping and sprinkling systems, Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment, Rig material and equipment
Additional Skills: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications, Liaise with management, engineers and other trades, Instruct apprentices, Supervise other workers
