PSI Engineer - Chemical

Position Outline:
Reporting to the PSI Project Manager, Project Safety Management, the PSI Engineer-Chemical shall be responsible for Process Technology Package preparations, Management of Change implementations within PSM group, which supports [Company]’s business process vision.
Key Accountabilities:
- The incumbent must have demonstrated the capability to perform plant data collection, upgrade and record plant information, and assist in the development of a Process Technology Package (PTP).
- Develops plans for accessing physical plant information based on information needs and a data collection methodology. Works with plant operating organization to gain plant access for plant walk downs.
- Records walk down information on provided forms, documents and drawings based on information obtained in plant walk downs. Provides routine progress report to Project Lead.
- Determines plant information needed for the PTP. Locates the documentation through document control systems and/or plant libraries and departments. Documents include, P&ID, Equipment Datasheets, Control Valve Datasheets, Line Schedules, Process Flow Diagrams, Calculations, Material Specifications, Process Design Data, DCS and SIS information, Manufacture Record Books, and other vendor books. All documents will be verified and uploaded to the document control system as the current as-built.
- Participates in a cross functional team to analyze process safety information and develop a Process Technology Package (PTP).
- Creates detailed process descriptions for use in the PTP from equipment information and training material.
- Creates findings on documentation issues. Provides redlines/markups of documentation for as-building.
- Participates in a cross functional team to analyze process hazards and develop operating envelopes
- Develops operating limits that define the boundaries for safe process operations.
Qualification Requirements:
- All candidates have a Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering with at least five (5) to ten (10) years hands on experience in the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical industry.
- Candidates must have very good organizational, communication & interpersonal skills and be highly motivated and able to perform under minimum supervision.
- Being a member or eligible for membership in APEGGA is mandatory.
