Assistant Driller
Description:

We are currently looking for an Assistant Driller for our prestigious client, a leading International resource company. This is an international position and will be a 28/28 rotational role.
Our client is a diversified resource company involved in the production of nickel, cobalt, oil and electricity, and the development of coal as an energy resource. Its success is built upon utilizing innovative technologies and the breadth of its financial and operational expertise to increase productivity and profitability. They continue to explore opportunities to grow its $2.6 billion asset base through expansion of its existing businesses and strategic acquisitions.
Position Profile:
Working with the Senior Driller and the existing drilling crews, the Assistant Driller will be responsible for assisting with the operation of the drilling rig and working with the other team members.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3-5 years experience on a 3000 plus meter drilling rig as a Driller
- Must have experience working with heavy oil and horizontal drilling
- Must have 1st line ticket, Fall Arrest and Rig Rescue certification
- Must have current first aid training certification
- The ability to work with people and provide good coaching and mentorship in difficult situations
- Excellent communication skills and a good work ethic
- The ability to work on own and be a self starter
- Extremely safety orientated
- Prior international experience is an asset
- Ability to work on a 28/28 day rotational basis
- Have a valid Canadian passport
- Ability to speak Spanish would be an asset
