We are seeking a Graphic Designer to join our Business Development (BD) team. Reporting to the Marketing Services Manager, the successful candidate will be confident, innovative, creative, energetic, reliable and able to work under pressure in an ever-changing environment.
The primary purpose of this role is to develop and create the visual presentation and layout of BD and Marketing materials including Proposals, PowerPoint Presentations, the departmental SharePoint site and print ads. Using your experience and creative vision you will assist the BD team in solving visual communication problems. You will identify the communications barrier, gather and analyze related information, and generate alternate and innovative ways to overcoming those barriers.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities include:
- Creating and inserting graphics into a wide variety of Business Development documents
- Ensuring that a high level of professionalism and quality is communicated through layout and the use of visuals
- Developing and enhancing layouts and visual presentations in proposals
- Guaranteeing the interoffice proposal process operates smoothly by anticipating technological barriers and hurdles when it comes to available design software etc.
- Acting as the 'gatekeeper' of all project photos including: obtaining permissions from clients, photo-editing and enhancing, cropping, sizing and formatting
- Preparing project organization charts, flow charts, presentations, etc. .
- Coordinating, developing and designing corporate print ads for newspapers, magazines and online
- Reviewing current design processes and recommending more efficient and effective methods
- Achieving productivity and other performance related goals
- Complying with all Company and departmental policies and procedures including all Health, Safety, and Environment policies
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with others
- Demonstrating behavior that reflects professionalism and respect, and represents SNC Lavalin's best interests
Qualifications and Experience:
- Completed post secondary education in Graphics Communications or similar
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years experience in a similar role is required
- Demonstrated expertise and knowledge in the following: Microsoft Suite including: PowerPoint, Word, Excel and Publisher, CorelDraw, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver and flash
- QuarkXpress
- SharePoint
- In-depth knowledge of PC platforms
