Job Description
 
The [Company] project is one of [Company]’s commercial bitumen production facilities utilizing steam assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) technology, one of the newest extraction techniques being used to appropriately develop Alberta’s vast oil sands resource. The Reliability / Maintenance Engineering Services group within In situ Technical Services are responsible for providing engineering and technical support to the operations and maintenance of the [Company] facility. As an Electrical engineering co-op student, you will:
  • Analyze and resolve basic electrical equipment problems.
  • Assist with root cause analysis of equipment failure and recommendation for mitigation to eliminate risk of subsequent failures
  • Perform periodic equipment walk-downs to ensure acceptable system conditioning and performance
  • Assist with development of equipment failure repair scopes, including interface with equipment vendors, to facilitate equipment return to service in an expeditious and safe manner
  • Provide technical support to maintenance personnel to ensure equipment asset integrity is being maintained in the most cost effective manner.
 
Qualification Requirements
  • 3rd year Electrical Engineering student
  • Prior oil industry / heavy industry experience is preferred
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, and Power Point)
  • Proven communication, administration and organizational skills
  • Capable of handling several tasks concurrently in different environments
  • Work accuracy and attention to detail is fundamental
  • Works with minimal supervision / Be a self-starter
