In the mine, approximately 500,000 tonnes of oil sands are mined every day. The ore is transported in the world’s largest trucks carrying close to 400 tonnes per load. On a 24hr daily basis, Oil Sands currently move approximately 1 million tonnes of oil sand and overburden combined. You could be in the driver’s seat of some of the world's largest haul trucks, with the potential to progress to Dozers, Graders and Shovels.
Qualification Requirements:
- Applicants possess a high school diploma, GED or an equivalent combination of education and experience. [Diplomas and GED's must be accredited by a provincial board of education; on-line diplomas are not recognized.]
- Applicants have a minimum of 6 months experience in the operation of heavy equipment, such as haul trucks, graders, dozers and loaders. Preference will be given to those with experience in an open pit mining environment.
- Consideration will also be given to those with other equipment related experience in an industrial environment and to those with extensive highway experience operating trucks with trailers or multiple trailers hauling long distance or in a city setting.
