Accountant III

[Company] is currently seeking qualified applicants for the position of ACCOUNTANT III, located in [Location], Alberta.
NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION
As the Accountant III, you will assist the Manager Production Accounting to achieve the results of providing management and financial reporting on a timely basis. This position will support all production accounting processes and ad hoc projects as assigned by management. We are looking for a self-motivated, team oriented candidate to expand our Accounting team.
SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Month-end/year-end process including journal entry and working paper files.
- Responsible for account analysis and reconciliation.
- Preparation of management and financial reporting.
- Assist with forecasts and budgets.
- Assist with monitoring, assessing and improving activities within the general accounting function.
- Provide support and guidance to other members of the finance team.
- Provide support and recommendations to the production departments
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
- A post secondary degree from a recognized institution (or equivalent) in business, finance or accounting.
- Professional accounting designation ( CA, CMA or CGA)
- Minimum 1 year of post-designation accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- 3 - 5 years of progressively related financial accounting experience.
- Experience with foreign exchange translation would be considered an asset.
- Demonstrated high level of proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel is required; as well as proficiency with computerized accounting software programs.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy with excellent written communication skills.
- Superior interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills
- Self motivated, team oriented and hands on individual.
- Proven ability to mulit-task and manage priorities in a fast paced environment.
