Hot Tapping Technician
Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:
[Company], is currently seeking responsible individuals who are interested in career opportunities. We are looking for experienced Hot Tapping Technicians to work in our mechanical division. There are advancement opportunities for those who excel in their proven abilities and are self motivated to complete the required training. The successful candidate must be motivated to gain knowledge and skills in other service areas such as: leak repair, line freezing, pipe crimping, line stops, fire hydrant servicing, gel plugs and corrosion protection. Your duties will be diversified and will vary based on the projects and job sites. You will also support other areas of work within our mechanical services division.
Required Minimum Qualification:
- Minimum 3 years hot tapping experience
- Experience hot tapping into various systems containing oil, gas, water, process products and steam
- Comfortable working around heights, confined spaces and wearing supplied air apparatus
- Mechanically inclined
- Ability to work over-time, on call, weekends and travel out of province as business dictates
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Basic knowledge and use of hand tools
- Self-motivated
- Physically demanding with heavy lifting, up to 50 pounds, required
- Possess a class 5 license and clean drivers abstract
- Pre-employment drug & alcohol test is required

- Strong organizational and problem solving skills
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Prior experience with a related trade, millwright work, process operating or familiarity of hot tapping is a definite asset
- You demonstrate an uncompromising commitment to health and safety
