Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician
Summary of Duties & Responsibilities:
[Company] is looking for a reliable, self-motivated Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician. You will contribute to the ongoing reliable maintenance of company and client owned equipment. You will ensure that the maintenance of all equipment is being performed and documented as per manufacturer specifications.
Thorough knowledge of heavy construction equipment and a wide variety of support equipment repair is required. Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems would be an asset. You will troubleshoot and inspect equipment and repair or replace defective parts. You will also test repaired equipment for proper maintenance, clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work.
Field Mechanics work a compressed work week of 5 days on, 4 off / 4 days on, 5 off. Depending on the set it will be 2 days then 2 nights or 3 days then 2 nights. Any work outside of the regular shift will be paid at time and a half. Night shift premium of $2.40 per hour.
Required Minimum Qualification:
- Must have completed a 4 year H.E.T. program or have Red Seal certification in both Heavy Equipment and Truck and Transport
- Minimum 5 years related experience
- Valid and clean class 5 license
- Speak, read and write clear English
- Weight handling of up to 50 lbs
- Pre-employment drug & alcohol testing is required
- Must have residence in Fort McMurray as camp accommodations are not provided
