[Company] is Canada's newest major oilsands development and the first to integrate in-situ Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) technology with onsite upgrading on a large scale. With input capacity of 70,000 barrels per day of bitumen, [Company] is the largest SAGD facility in the world. The facility also employs a unique and proprietary upgrading solution that results in production of a Premium Synthetic Crude (PSCTM) oil that is superior to any other produced from the Canadian oilsands - at a distinct cost advantage over other operations.
[Company] is located approximately 40 km southeast of Fort McMurray, in the Athabasca oilsands of northeastern Alberta. The lease is estimated to hold approximately six billion barrels of bitumen. As operator, [Company] is currently focused on ramping up production to reach an output capacity of 60,000 barrels per day of PSCTM.

Position Overview
Reporting to the Drafting and Document Control Lead, this position is the super user and administrator of the Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) database for the [Company] site.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
This role is responsible for the following activities representing [Company] site:
- First line SPI support for site personnel as it pertains to all SPI databases representing the operating Plants; this includes interfacing with [Company] Corporate SPI 2nd line support
- Provide SPI training to Operations personnel
- Administer User Group permissions, and site user accounts
- SPI Redline incorporation (As-Building) of Instrument Index, Instrument Datasheets, Instrument Loop Drawings, Instrumentation Panel Strip Reports, and Foundation Fieldbus Segments
- Assist Instrument Engineering with preparation of engineering packages including assigning & approval of tag numbers, and generation of loop drawings, data sheets & wiring diagrams
- AutoCAD and Microstation drafting
- Adherence to the [Company] Corporate data handling and storage practices as it pertains to Instrumentation deliverables
- Site governor of [Company] SPI Corporate standards, procedures, workflows, and guidelines. Taking direction from the Corporate SPI Administrator
- Site coordinator for SPI data dissemination for maintenance and operations concurrent projects. Interfacing with the [Company] Corporate SPI Administrator to ensure Projects have timely access to the required data.
Education/Experience
- Must have a minimum of 5 years hands on experience as a Designer working in INtools/SPI
- Must have a minimum of 2 years hands on experience as an INtools/SPI Administrator
- Diploma in Engineering Drafting Technology or a combination of education and experience will be considered
- Experience with AutoCAD v2008 and Microstation v8 is required
- Experience with Livelink, Smart Plant Electrical and Smart Plant P&ID will be considered an asset
- Experience working as a member of an Owner Operator organization supporting SPI is an asset.
