Geotechnical Engineer
The [Company] focuses on Alberta’s regulatory framework for the oil and gas sector. The [Company] has been created to strengthen and enhance our regulatory capacity to address the ever-changing Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and the expanding oil sands sector. We are looking to fill the following position in the Fort McMurray Office:
 
Geotechnical Engineer (09-031)
 
You will provide specific expertise to assist in the regulation of the oil sands mining sector in the Fort McMurray Regional Office. You will be responsible for the technical review of applications for existing and proposed commercial oil sand mines and associated facilities. In addition, you will be accountable for geotechnical evaluation of new and expanding oil sands mining schemes, as well as technical evaluation of oil sands geotechnical applications. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering or Civil Engineering and four or more years of progressive related experience.
