Student - Computer Science/MIS - Co-op/Discipline (Starting September 2009)

A number of positions are available for Computer Science and MIS students.
Types of positions include:
- Workstation Analyst
- Administrative and Technical Support
- Typical responsibilities for these positions include:
- Data analysis, modeling, and administration
- Application management, support and administration
- Development of systems documentation, operating procedures and turnover packages
- Day to day technical support, which may involve writing SQL and PL/SQL scripts
- Configuration and installation of servers and/or workstations
- Software configuration testing and certification of application for acceptability to [Company]'s environment
Qualifications
- Students must be completing at least their 2nd year of Computer Science or 2nd year Management Information Systems
- Available for a 4 or 8 month work term starting in September 2009.
- Some or all of the following technical skills will be required depending on the specific position:
Technical Skills:
- Exposure to a client/server environment
- Familiarity with network operating systems
- Knowledge of Windows 2000 and MS Office
Business Skills:
- Excellent, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to interact with all levels of management
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Analytical, numeric and problem solving skills
- Project Management skills
Other:
Students will work within a dynamic team environment and will be required to interact with other technical and operations staff.
