Job Description
[Company]. is currently seeking applicants for the full time position of Quantity Surveyor near Sherwood Park, Alberta.
 
Primary Functions:
  • Collecting, tabulating and reporting field quantities of accomplishment for each activity of the project.
  • Make any necessary quantity take-offs from drawings to accomplish the reporting of field quantities in accordance with construction planning.
  • Obtain actual field quantities periodically.
  • Establish and maintain quantity files on each activity of work performed on the project.
  • Issue a weekly recap of field quantities.
  • Assist the Project Controls Lead in issuing performance charts and graphs, and determining project final quantities.
  • Assist the Project Controls Lead on any required in-depth quantity studies, and interpretation of the field quantities as applied to scheduling activities.
  • Inform the Project Controls Lead of any discrepancies in quantities associated with material and labor
  • Provide input in the quantifying and estimating of work identified to be outside of the approval scope of work .
Education and Experience: 
  • High School Diploma.
  • Candidates must be an intermediate level quantity surveyor / progress analyst and must have a minimum on 3 years experience.
  • Candidates should have experience in industrial (preferably oil/gas) projects.
  • Knowledge of progress measurement systems and earned value is required
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to be a team-player are essential
  • Candidates should have at least 2 years of Canadian work experience in order to qualify for this position.
