Senior Environmental Advisor – Joslyn South Mine Project
Job description

ACTIVITY
- Promote excellence throughout the Company in environmental matters.
- Coordination of the preparation of Environmental Baseline and Environmental Impact Assessments and preparation and execution of Environmental Surveys, with the approval of the Regulatory Manager.
- Support the Project Environmental Engineer in insuring that requirements as identified in the regulatory process are effectively integrated into the project plans.
- Monitor environment performance for the Joslyn South Mine Project.
- Coordinate reporting of environmental performance to Company management, HQ and Authorities specific to the project.
- Support the development of required environmental management systems to prepare the South Mine project for operations.
- Support the preparation for ISO-14001 registration.
- Perform and organize internal and external auditing in environmental matters.
- Assume the role of Company Environment representative vis-a-vis authorities, associations and industry for assigned committees (CEMA).
- Prepare the oil spill contingency plan for the project and incorporate environmental information into emergency response plans.
- Define competence and training requirements concerning environment for operations team.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Ensure that Environment policies and procedures are established and that they are an integrated part of all work processes.
- Is accountable for ensuring Total and regulatory compliant deliverables from all environmental studies and audits conducted for the Company for mine operations.
- Ensure efficient coordination with Regulatory Manager.
- Will facilitate the development of key Total studies and reports including Environmental Baseline Assessment, Environmental Impact Assessments, Environmental Greenbook and site specific management system components specific to the south mine requirements.
- Is further accountable for building and maintaining effective relationships with authorities on environmental matters and reporting of environment performance.
Required skills
- Education :
- University degree in Engineering or Environment related subjects
- Experience :
- Minimum 10 years of experience in Oil, Mining or Petrochemical industry.
- Experience in providing environmental support in a refining application is desirable..
- Skills :
- Able to work closely with Operational units, Authorities and NGOs.
