We are seeking experienced Power Engineers to join our Production teams. These teams manage the energy, water systems and commodities for the Company complex. As a team member you will be responsible for operating, monitoring and minor maintenance of one of the largest integrated power plants in the world, utilizing the latest leading-edge technology. Candidates may also have the opportunity to participate in the construction, commissioning and start-up of the Flue Gas Desulphurization unit.
Successful candidates will have experience in some or all of the following areas: control room panel (DCS/PLC) operation, field operating experience on large boilers, precipitators, ash systems, power generation steam, steam turbines, gas turbines, pumps, compressors, cooling towers, de-mineralized, condensate, boiler feed water treatment systems, hydrogen furnaces and sulphur waste heat boilers .
These positions are located at our Plant Site in Fort McMurray.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency diploma (GED)
- 3rd Class Power Engineer Certificate
- Minimum of 4 years related experience in a large Power Plant or Refinery
Desirable assets include:
- 2nd or 1st Class Power Engineer Certificate
- Control room panel experience
- Commissioning and/or start-up experience
- Leadership/Supervisory experience
Skills:
- Effective Analytical skills
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work with diverse individuals and groups
- Working knowledge of Microsoft products such as Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience with Safety and Loss Management programs
