Power Systems Electrician
Position Overview
Our Long Lake SAGD facility has an immediate opening for Power Systems Electrician/Industrial Electrician.
This is a Fort McMurray based position; therefore relocation is required. We offer highly competitive housing/rental assistance programs to all successful candidates.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Support Nexen SAGD facility operating objectives by providing High voltage switching/isolation and electrical troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Support High Voltage Operator in Charge to maintain power distribution systems - i.e. 144kV, 25kV, 4160V and 600V;
- Maintain electrical equipment and controls - i.e. motors, motor starters, VFD's, heat tracing;
- Troubleshoot process problems utilizing the Delta V DCS;
- Oversee and ensure that the contractors assigned to your responsibility meet quality , cost and schedule targets;
- Develop/champion High Voltage Safety procedures;
- Plan and implement preventative maintenance programs for Electrical and Control System equipment;
- Perform work in a safe and efficient manner to established industry standards;
- Provide technical expertise to assist the contractor Technicians as required.
Education/Experience
- Journeyman Power Systems Electrician and/or Electrical;
- High Voltage systems experience and asset;
- Foundation Fieldbus, Modbus and DeviceNet experience a definite asset;
- 5 years experience with High Voltage Systems.
