Director of Business Development
Vista Projects Limited, based in Calgary, is a multi-discipline medium-sized engineering consulting company specializing in Engineering, Procurement, and Project Management services to the Energy Industry.
We have successfully completed both complex large-cap and challenging smaller projects for Canadian and international clients. We efficiently handle projects of all sizes by applying procedures and systems appropriate to the size of the job. Our most recent projects have focused on SAGD heavy oil facilities for Canada's largest oil and gas companies as well as projects dealing with pipeline gathering systems (sweet & sour), conventional oil production facilities, gas processing and compression facilities.

To complement our growth plans, we are looking for highly accomplished senior personnel focusing on the energy industry. While the requirements for specific positions vary, it is important that you have a sound technical knowledge in your area of expertise, desire working in a fast paced entrepreneurial organization, and have demonstrated experience in finding innovative solutions and solving complex, unique engineering challenges.
Director of Business Development
Responsibilities
- Source new clients seeking a value driven, technical EPC like Vista Projects;
- Identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with potential clients;
- Develop existing and new customers through planned individual account support;
- Plan and carry out direct sales and marketing activities to agreed budgets, volumes, values, service mix, and timescales;
- Plan and prioritize personal sales activities and customer/prospect contact towards achieving agreed business goals;
- Submit and present customers with collaborative proposals with solutions, justifications, and expected results and win the business with maximum value for the client and Vista;
- Conduct market research, comparator, and client surveys;
- Identify best opportunities (via in-depth regional market knowledge) to expand the range of services;
- Rely on experience, network and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Requirements
- Qualified candidates MUST have demonstrated experience 15+ years of work experience in developing strategic alliances with Energy Corporations in Canada;
- Besides integrity, which is one of our core values, candidates must possess strong presentation, interpersonal, written/verbal communication, negotiation, and deal making skills;
- Prior proven record of accomplishment of building and successfully marketing a new brand / service into the Energy / Oil and Gas industry will be preferred;
- Successful candidates must have extensive local corporate contacts in the O&G industry, be experienced in marketing at the corporate level and have a demonstrated history of achieving objectives (closing the deal).
