The Controllers Department is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic Business Analyst to join our team of business professionals. The Business Analysis Teams are responsible to support Management in the area of Business Controls and Cost Management within the various Business Units.
 
The position(s) may include, but are not limited to the following responsibilities:
  • Providing accurate and timely information in support of the business cycle (Business Plan, Budget, Forecast, Outlooks)
  • Provide analysis of cost and other key variables for trends and appropriateness of costs.
  • Provide financial advice and strategies, product valuation and unit costs.
  • Provide advice on business control design and compliance.
  • Provide support to project management and asset valuation.
  • Assist in education of key stakeholders within the Business Unit in Business Literacy and system support tools associated with cost management.
  • Identify and initiate continuous improvement activities to improve business process methods and control within own area of responsibility.
 
Skills required for this position include:
  • Above average self-management and organizational skills, including high degree of initiative and the ability to adapt to changing situations and timelines.
  • Above average analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills to evaluate alternatives and provide recommendations on business issues
  • Strong background in performance analysis and trending.
  • Ability to work within a collaborative team environment with minimal supervision, to achieve both individual and team success
  • Above average written and oral communication skills to interface effectively with all levels within the organization or with external contacts
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a highly computerized environment including experience working with advanced functions in Excel (pivot tables, graphs) and aptitude for applications used to analyze or evaluate the business
  • Sound knowledge of business processes, controls, generally accepted accounting principals and other business principals
 
Qualifications
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, Commerce, or Accounting along with a recognized accounting designation (CA,CMA,CGA) and 5 years relevant experience.
  • Alternatively a combination of skills, education and experience may be considered.
