SAP Business Process Specialist - Security

Reporting to the Coordinator - Governance, this person is responsible for the design, configuration, testing, enhancements and documentation of the SAP Security processes.
These processes include:
- Safeguarding the Company’s Information assets by reducing the risk of SAP system and data access by unauthorized users.
- Ensuring availability of information that clients require for their job function by granting appropriate access privileges.
- Monitoring the level of security access throughout the system, ensuring “high risk” access is limited to appropriate users and complies with the principles of segregation of duties.
The primary role of this position is to sustain communication with, and provide guidance and support to the business units, the SAP Application teams and the client community in the area of SAP Security.
Accountabilities
- Continuously improve the business process through efficiencies, changes and controls in business processes and by optimizing the SAP system’s functional capabilities.
- Maintain and enhance the configuration of SAP Security within the Security area itself as well as Business modules.
- Develop training documentation and deliver training on newly developed functionality to Business Security Requestors and SAP Security Team Liaisons. Provide periodic workshops / refresher training to existing Business Security support groups.
- Act as a consultant to the corporation relative to SAP Security functionality, working with clients to promote disciplined and consistent application of standardized, best-in-class processes across all business units.
- Ensure processes are in-line with Corporate Security standards and SOX compliance.
- Maintain effective communication with internal/external Audit departments and the Business clients.
Skills
- Minimum 2 years SAP-Security configuration experience.
- Practical experience with SAP role generation in R/3, BW, CRM.
- In-depth understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley directives, Segregation of Duties considerations and compliance as they apply to SAP and IS applications is critical.
- Experience with SAP Portal Security implementation.
- Understanding of the process and cross-functionality of SAP (R/3, BW, CRM, Portal, E-Recruiting) modules.
- Ability to work well within a team while managing multiple assignments and critical deadlines.
- Excellent, professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong negotiation skills and non-authoritative leadership skills.
- Analytical and problem solving skills are critical.
- Training and coaching skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize requests is essential.
