Analyst - Recruiting
Position Overview 
This position reports to the Manager, Recruitment and is a member of the recruiting team.  The primary focus of this position is to lead the recruitment for all student programs as well as manage the career fair and sponsorship programs. 
 
Job Duties/Responsibilities 
  • Managing Nexen’s student recruitment programs through all stages from recruitment through to on-boarding.  This includes the New Graduate, Co-op, Internship, Technical Summer Student and Summer Student programs;
  • Recruitment and Selection of students from various co-operative, internship and summer programs;
  • Establishing, developing, and maintaining strong relationships with Nexen Technical Chiefs and Technical Recruiters;
  • Establishing, developing, and maintaining strong relationships with the various post-secondary institutions throughout Canada;
  • Researching, recommending, organizing and leading through attending the student and non-student Nexen career fairs;
  • Organizing the recruitment branding/sponsorship initiatives;
  • Researching and providing up to date information on latest trends and new developments relating to student employment;
  • Partnering with the various international offices to develop best practices for student recruitment internationally;
  • Preparing student recruitment monthly reports;
  • Supervising and providing direction to students assigned to the recruitment team;
  • Coordinating the delivery of Nexen’s Technical Summer Student Lecture Series;
  • Managing other projects as identified throughout the year;
  • Documenting and continuously developing the student recruitment processes and procedures to ensure that the most effective and efficient processes are in place and documented. 
 
Education/Experience 
  • Post secondary education with a focus in HR and 3-5 years related work experience or equivalent experience (6-8 years);
  • Previous experience in Human Resources; focus in a recruiting environment;
  • Well developed skills in working with managers and employees from all areas and levels of the organization and providing direction related to the student programs to the managers and employees;
  • An affinity with project management and the ability to critically analyze a situation and derive a solution;
  • Demonstrated analytical and administrative skills;
  • Proven attention to detail with a willingness to work under tight deadlines;
  • Excellent oral and written communications with the ability to project manage and ensure all participants understand the program and key deliverables;
  • Willingness to take initiative;
  • Job requires some travel therefore must be willing to travel for an extended time frame at certain times of the year.
