Site Services Coordinator - Sunrise Oil Sands Project
We are seeking a Site Services Coordinator to effectively coordinate varying teams, contractors and third parties during the construction phase of the Sunrise Oilsands Project. In this role you will be supporting the Construction team and reporting to the Senior Construction Manager. You will be responsible for managing all services related to the successful construction of the Sunrise project site. You will coordinate all resources and communications among on-site personnel during the project site’s construction.
In the Planning Stage, this role will require you to be in Calgary; however, this will transition to the job site in Fort McMurray.

- Managing all services required for fully functioning:
- Project sites;
- Field facilities; and
- Camp facilities
- Coordinating while adhering to building codes and Health & Safety standards:
- Temporary storage facilities;
- Building site facilities;
- Transportation;
- Materials management;
- Logistics issues;
- Deliveries;
- Shipping;
- Warehousing; and
- Equipment
- Participating in the project site construction, being the point of contact for contractors, vendors and/or third parties
- Resolving any conflicts, issues, or grievances that impede contractors, vendors and/or any third party from adhering to the project’s construction schedule
- Reporting any service needs or issues from contractors to the Construction Manager
- Demonstrating sound knowledge of, and adherence to, building codes as well as the health and safety mandate
- Health & Safety Management:
- Ensuring all on site personnel adhere to the Company’s Health and Safety regulations and mandates
- Implementing the Company’s Health & Safety protocols and procedure whenever necessary
- Reporting any cases and/or incidences of health and safety noncompliance
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- A Civil Engineering Degree or Technical Diploma is required
- Ten years of combined experience in a leadership role working in versatile, team-oriented environments, is required
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience working on, a variety of projects and in diverse roles/positions is essential
- Twenty years of combined experience working in a natural resources, construction, trades and/or transportation industry is required
- Proven tenure working in different environments that require regular interaction with contractors and trades, is necessary
- Experience in the petroleum industry would be an asset
- First Aid CPR Certification is mandatory
- Problem solving skills sufficient to identify issues and develop solutions for resolution in a proactive manner
Well-developed people management, leadership and coaching skills in order to create and maintain high performing teams
Excellent organizational and planning skills to set and exceed established goals, schedules, and deadlines, often under pressure
Ability to quickly assimilate data, including highly technical information, and then clearly communicate it across all levels of an organization
Energetic and self-starting coupled with the ability to demonstrate innovation
This position requires the incumbent to operate a vehicle for which a valid driver’s license is required. The final candidate will be required to provide a recent (ie. issued within previous 4 weeks) original driver’s abstract for a 5 year period, prior to starting work with us, for review by our Health and Safety group.
This is a safety sensitive role and as such you will also be required to pass the Company’s pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol assessment requirements.
