Description
We are seeking a Senior Geophysicist to join its multi-disciplinary Oil Sands Team located in Calgary, Alberta.
We are the largest net lease holder in the Athabasca oil sands play, located in North Eastern Alberta. The company's assets include (1) 50% ownership and operatorship of the Surmont field which covers about 600 km2 and contains in excess of 25 billion barrels of bitumen in place; (2) 50% ownership of the partner-operated Foster Creek and Christina Lake fields with over 6 billion barrels of recoverable bitumen; (3) 100% ownership of emerging assets at Thornbury, Clyden and Saleski.

Responsibilities
The Senior Geophysicist may be responsible for:
- Seismic interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic
- Use seismic data to assist in the construction of new geomodels
- Acquisition planning and processing QC of 2D, 3D and 4D seismic
- Optimize well and pad placement through integrated seismic interpretation workflows
- Contributor to stratigraphic interpretation efforts.
Qualifications
Basic/Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s of Science in Geoscience.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience, from a variety of plays
- Advanced user of interpretation software, e.g. GeoProbe, VoxelGeo, DepthTeam
- Ability to integrate geological and geophysical workflows
- Legally authorized to work in Canada on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or PhD degree in Geoscience is preferred.
- Sound understanding of seismic stratigraphic principles
- Good project management skills
- Strong team player and mentor
