P&ID Drafter
Description
SNC-Lavalin Inc. is the largest Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management organization in Canada, with offices across Canada and the world. The Petrochemical Division in Calgary has an exciting contract opportunity for a P&ID Drafter in the Mineable Energy Group.
 
Roles and responsibilities:
  • 5-10 years experience P&ID drafting
  • Able to read and understand Process drawings (Block Flow, PFD’s, P&ID’s etc)
 
Process Designers are responsible for the layout and production of all forms of Process drawings from conceptual design forward to IFC.
 
  • Good general knowledge of drafting practices
  • Be familiar with one or more of the following drafting software programs (AutoCAD, AutoPlant, SmartPlant or Microstation)
  • Designers should have a good general understanding of process systems within Processing Plants
  • Ablility to understand and follow project work instructions
  • Drafters will be required to produce drawings from Process Engineer or Process Design sketches
  • Must be able to gather data and interface with a variety of sources and disciplines to produce an efficient design
  • Drafters will be required to update drawings from marked-up Contract Master drawings.
  • Drafters may be asked to mark-up project drawings by hand using approved project practices and procedures
  • Being able to mentor inexperienced drafters is a plus
 
A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Access, although not mandatory, is desirable.
