Business Intelligence (BI) Superuser
Position Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Horizon Financial Systems, the incumbent will be the key interface between the Horizon area performance analysts, operating and support staff, I/T group, Hyperion system consultants and the data owners for the, development, implementation, training, maintenance, issue resolution and continuous improvement of Horizon Business Intelligence system. Working closely with the users in Horizon, you will understand the requirements of the various business owners so as to deliver effective and efficient reports and on-line information in a timely manner.
 
Two (2) opportunities currently exist.
 
Specific Accountabilities include but are not limited to:
  • Work with end users decision makers to develop accurate, timely and relevant reports and on-line inquiries which will support decision making and reporting.
  • Drive the timely development of the Hyperion BI database to support the Horizon key performance indicators
  • Review system data integrity reports and supply analytical support to the business and Hyperion support group.
  • Manage the outstanding issues list for the business
 
Represent the business in :
  • the day to day support within current configuration
  • the implementation of new configuration
  • implementation of new modules and functionality
  • to facilitate and deliver functional specifications for custom applications
  • to facilitate and deliver functional specifications for custom reports
 
Work with other superusers to facilitate integration of performance data from other applications.
Training - coach / facilitate knowledge transfer to the area performance analysts and other end users.
 
Employment Requirements:
  • A computer science or business degree are a definite asset
  • 8 – 10 years related application experience and business related experience preferably in mining, refining or other related industries
  • -Direct experience with Hyperion or Essbase is a definite asset
  • strong technical skills internal and external to the Hyperion system (sql, excel, scrip development, access, etc.)
  • Advanced interpersonal skills, communication and time management
