Reclamation and Remediation Environmental Advisor

The Environment, Health, Safety and Regulatory Services Team of the Canadian Plains Division is currently seeking a qualified individual to fill a role specific to reclamation and remediation programs within the Division. EnCana’s Canadian Plains Division spans the Provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan, work experiences in both Provinces would be an asset for this position. The successful candidate will work closely with Business Unit teams and must have an understanding of upstream oil and gas processes and their interactions with the surrounding environment. In this role, a sound knowledge of applicable Alberta and Saskatchewan regulations is essential. Communication and execution of work are key factors in the success of this position.

Duties and Responsibilities
• project management of third party consultants involved in final site reclamation and remediation projects.
• provide spill response support and site remediation management
• track and report reclamation and remediation costs to Division leaders.
• support Division staff by providing regulatory and environmental guidance when requested
• advise Divisional leaders of regulatory changes which require operational changes to ensure compliance
• assists Divisional Leaders, operations and projects staff with the development and/or improvement of key regulatory processes and practices required to result in timely and compliant operations
• assist Division staff with correspondence, replies to requests, or compliance/regulatory issues
• provide or coordinate environmental training to divisional staff as required

Qualifications
• must be legally entitled to work in Canada
• understand the reclamation, remediation and spill reporting requirements and regulations of Alberta and Saskatchewan.
• 5+ years or related experience
• Bachelor of Science in an environmental discipline is preferred, but a diploma will be accepted
• Knowledge of Microsoft applications
