Accountant - Corporate Finance

The Divisional Reporting team has an excellent opportunity for an Accountant to join their team. Reporting to the Team Lead, Divisional Reporting, you will be responsible for various aspects of internal and external financial reporting aiding in the completion of various projects as required. The successful candidate will be a team player who strives for excellence in reporting accuracy and focuses on providing a useful product to our end users. This position will appeal to individuals who are highly motivated and enjoy working within a dynamic and fast paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities
• prepare quarterly and annual financial statements
• operations analyses with a focus on operating costs
• account reconciliations
• ensure all Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls are completed
• assist in the completion of the Upstream Financial Report
• review quarterly and annual documents such as the MD&A, Financial Statements and Supplemental Information
• provide support and analysis to business units
• streamline and improve processes as well as cross train for various other duties
Qualifications
• must be legally entitled to work in Canada
• post secondary degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting with an Accounting designation
• minimum 5 + years experience in a similar role in the oil and gas industry
• strong analytical and organizational skills
• self starter with a proven ability to work well with a variety of team members on business critical and time sensitive analysis
• capacity to pay strong attention to detail and take pride in accuracy
• ability to deal with fluctuating work loads and meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks
• ability to work in a team oriented environment
