Site Wide Logistics Manager
Responsibilities:
- This position is responsible and accountable for the On Site Logistics and Transportation for Tagged Equipment and Materials from the Central Warehouse and Laydown Areas for Voyageur Upgrader (VU) Project based at the VU Site approx 35km north of Fort McMurray.
- Develop specific procedures and work practices for monitoring incoming transportation, establishing destination and escorting same from security gate on arrival to on site destination.
- Manage a pool of transportation vehicles for collections and deliveries within the VU Site and close locality offsite storage facilities.
- Manage outgoing transportation for returns and courier services for the project.
- Manage call off of specialized transport from site wide contractor or others when required to supplement fleet.
- Interface with Central Construction Management Team, ISBL Construction Contractors and Security and be part of the Site Traffic Management Team for effective control of all on site movements.
- Ensure safe working practices are adhered to for all on site transportation.
- Maintain records for utilization and performance for all on site transportation.
- Provide data for input into the Central Materials Management Computer System (Fabtrack) incorporating TMS functionality.
- Responsible for hiring and maintaining all required Site Logistics staff and support team within the Site Materials Management Organization for the project.
- Interface with other Discipline Managers within the Materials Management Team for Warehouse/Laydown Operations, Material Co-ordination and Quality Control.
- Interface with The Voyageur Logistics Manager in the Central Management Team based in Calgary.
Experience and Qualifications:
- 8 to 10 years experience working in a similar role within Supply Chain Management, specifically Logistics with at least 5 years in a supervisor/manager position.
- Preferably, experience in construction support of major capital projects in the oil sands/oil & gas industry.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision and have good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Literacy in computer operations and familiarity with computerized procurement & materials management systems.
