Organization Effectiveness Coordinator

Shell Canada is currently seeking Organization Effectiveness Coordinator for the Scotford Refinery, located in Fort Saskatchewan, AB.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Reporting to the Scotford Oil & Chemicals Human Resources Manager, the Organizational Effectiveness Coordinator position is the focal point for organizational effectiveness tactics that develop site performance & synergy at the Refinery.  
  • The incumbent must be able to work effectively in a highly participative and self managed team environment with a focus on enabling the business to deliver results throughout all aspects of the organization.
 
Accountabilities
  • Provides consultation and facilitation support to managers, supervisors, teams, and employees to achieve improved business performance by focusing on processes, systems and work relationships.
  • Design, implement and lead effective change management initiatives.
  • Facilitate change to the work structures and processes by working directly with teams and support staff in all phases of development. Provide consultation to client departments in managing change and departmental transitions.
  • Work with leaders across the Refinery to produce systemic solutions to manufacturing challenges and support leaders in implementing the solutions.
  • Develop, apply and teach tools and concepts for improved work relationships & team effectiveness.
  • Conduct targeted diagnosis & needs analysis to identify key trends, critical issues and common themes while working with site leadership on designing solutions to improve key areas.
  • Acts as the liaison for management & the workforce in terms of employee sensing, engagement and communication.
  • Provides guidance and leadership to self directed work teams and the structure for the teams in Operations and across the organization as requested.
  • Provides facilitation, mentoring and industrial relations support for improved organization and individual performance through various performance management processes.
  • Liaise with site HR Advisors, OE Advisor and other OE Coordinators as well as broader OE networks both within RDS and externally to remain current and abreast of best practices
 
Requirements:
  • Must have legal authorization to work for anyone other than current employer
  • Undergraduate degree in HR, IR prefered or related areas.
  • Minimum 7 years of practical OE experience preferrably in an operating / manufacturing environment.
  • Possess superior leadership, coaching, interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong and proven results orientation and delivery.
  • Be a self-starter and possess the ability to learn from others and self-study.
  • Have comprehensive understanding of organizational development theories
  • Proven experience in change management using change management theory and processes
  • Solid group facilitation.      
  • Solid computer skills required.
  • The incumbent must actively demonstrate support for the business as it relates to health, safety and environment

Scotford consists of three distinct and diverse Downstream businesses (Refinery/Upgrader/Chemicals).
 
The Scotford Refinery is a 100,000 bpd complex processing synthetic crude plus feedstock from the adjacent Upgrader. The Refinery employs approximately 235 employees with anticipated growth of an additional 75 in staff in 2008.
 
The Scotford Chemical Plant manufactures styrene and glycol (MEG) for a variety of commercial and consumer products.   The Chemical Plant employs approximately 170 employees.
